Instagram is constantly bringing out new updates to improve the social networking app. One feature that has had regular updates is Instagram Stories. They are looking to improve the feature and to create a better experience for their users than they would have on Snapchat. The latest feature allows users to upload story clips that are longer than 15 seconds which was previously the limit. Clips that are now longer than the original limit are trimmed into different segments. However, each segment will still only be no more than 15 seconds.
The latest update comes only a few months after Instagram announced that ads would be coming to Instagram Stories. There have also been recent updates to Stories to allows users to ask questions, add gifs, polls and music.
As spotted by a Reddit user and which you can see in the video above, the video is clipped into three segments however the segments do not retain the text from the previous ones. The feature will allow users to upload longer clips without having to trim them. This will allow them to save time and make the experience more user-friendly.
Users who want to create longer videos can still take advantage of the IGTV app. The app allows users to create 10-minute videos and verified users can upload videos up to one hour. Following the slow start for IGTV, Instagram will be hoping that the new update to Stories, which is already an extremely popular feature on the social media site, will fair better.
With still no official announcement, there is no indication when it will be available for all users. The new feature is being rolled out in phases, so it is best to check you have the latest version.
